Moderators

Thank you for Moderating!

GreenBiz is committed to evolving the conference model, based largely on passive listening, to one that is interactive and action-oriented — enabling participants to engage more directly with one another and more deeply with the content.

As moderator, you're expected to facilitate the session, connect and align with panelists and engage with the audience. Responsibilities are outlined below.

Moderator Responsibilities

Thank you for moderating a session at Circularity 24! Please review the below information to ensure you are prepared for your session.

Set up polling and facilitate Q&A

Polling and live Q&A are great tools to get the audience involved. You can view instructions on how to set up polling and live Q&A here.

Communicate and connect with speakers

It is the responsibility of a Moderator to communicate with speakers to make sure their session runs smoothly. Once you've confirmed speakers for your panel, please introduce the speakers to one another over email and exchange contact information. Approximately one month before the event, schedule a pre-conference call for your panel to prepare for your presentation.

Decide on the use of visual aids and create title slide

We encourage your session to be as interactive and dynamic as possible and slides can be a good way to support your presentation. However, we do not require sessions to use slides. We do, however, require a title slide that lists the title of the session along with all speakers, their titles and affiliations. This information can be pulled from the session page on the website and a slide template can be downloaded here. It is the responsibility of the moderator to create the title slide.

If you plan on creating a presentation, please review Microsoft's step-by-step accessibility guide for creating PowerPoint presentations.

Bring your laptop and adapter, if applicable

All breakout rooms are equipped with a monitor screen and HDMI cable for you to display your slides and/or title slide. If you are using a Mac, you will need to bring your own HDMI adapter. Please ensure that you or a member of your panel are prepared to present using a laptop and HDMI cable.

Share your slides with attendees

You can submit your presentation here to be shared with attendees post-event.
